FAQ's

I have a ticket with a time slot. How long can I stay in the museum?

You can take all the time you need to visit the Anne Frank House. Only your starting time (= your time slot) is fixed. On average, a visit lasts an hour.

Can I photograph in the Anne Frank House?

Photography is not allowed. We want to protect the originals in the museum and not hinder other visitors

Can I take a tour of the museum?

We do not give guided tours in the museum. There is a free audio tour. The audio tour is available in nine languages: Dutch, English, Spanish, German, Portuguese, French, Italian, Japanese and Hebrew.

Is there a cloakroom in the Anne Frank House?

Our cloakroom is currently closed, please do not bring large bags! There is a free cloakroom in the museum where you can drop off your coat, bag, umbrella, buggy or stroller. Handbags smaller than A4 size are allowed into the museum. There is no room in our wardrobe for large bags and backpacks, suitcases or other bulky items. Leave your luggage at your hotel or store it at the drop & go at Central Station. This will prevent you from being able to enter the museum.

Can I bring a large backpack or suitcase to the Anne Frank House?

The Anne Frank House has a cloakroom, but large backpacks or suitcases are not accepted. There's no room for that. Leave your luggage at your hotel or deposit it at Central Station. This will prevent you from being able to enter the museum.

I have a Museum Card, VriendenLoterij VIP Card or a discount card. Can I visit the Anne Frank House at any time?

Even if you have a Museum Card, VriendenLoterij VIP Card, CJP or Stadspas Amsterdam, you must book a ticket with a time slot online.

The website indicates that there are no more tickets available on the chosen day. What can I do?

We understand your disappointment. The Anne Frank House is a small museum with limited space. We use maximum opening hours, but the demand for tickets remains many times greater than the supply. Tickets are therefore quickly sold out. Unfortunately, we have to disappoint many people every day. You can try to buy a ticket for another date. Tickets cannot be bought in the museum itself.

Can I exchange my ticket or get a refund?

Tickets are non-refundable. Not even if there is force majeure, such as problems with public transport, negative travel advice or personal circumstances. See our visiting conditions .

I want to book one or more tickets, is that possible?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to book additional tickets with an existing reservation. Check our site to see if tickets are still available.

I bought several tickets in one order, these are all in my name, is that a problem?

That's no problem. The only condition is that you are present during the museum visit.

I bought a ticket but I have not received a confirmation. What should I do?

Have you checked your spam box yet? If it concerns a ticket for today , we recommend that you go to the museum and contact one of the public employees outside. They will help you further. If it concerns a ticket for a different date, you can contact us via the contact form . State your name and the date of your visit to the Anne Frank House. We will send you a new confirmation by e-mail. Has no money been debited from your account? Then you haven't bought a ticket yet. In that case, go back to our website and try again.

I want to visit the museum with a group. How many tickets can I buy at the same time?

You can reserve a maximum of 14 tickets per booking.

Can I book an introductory program with a ticket I have already purchased?

If you have already bought a ticket, it is unfortunately not possible to book an introductory program.
