Hotel Palace

Ciragan Palace Kempinski is a luxurious hotel located in Istanbul, Turkey. The hotel is set in a magnificent 19th-century palace with breathtaking views of the Bosphorus. With its impressive architecture and excellent service, Ciragan Palace Kempinski offers guests a truly unforgettable experience.

History

The palace was built in the 19th century for the Ottoman sultans. It was designed by the famous Ottoman architect, Sarkis Balyan. The palace was home to many sultans, including Abdulmecid I and Abdulaziz. The palace served as the residence of the last six Ottoman sultans until the fall of the Ottoman Empire in 1922. During the Republic era, the palace was used as a state guest house and later as a hotel.

In 1989, the palace was leased to a Turkish construction company, which renovated the palace and converted it into a luxury hotel. The hotel officially opened in 1992 and was managed by Kempinski Hotels. In 2007, the hotel was purchased by the Kempinski Group and renamed the Ciragan Palace Kempinski.


Location

The hotel is located on the European side of Istanbul, on the banks of the Bosphorus. It is situated in the Besiktas district, which is one of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful gardens and offers guests breathtaking views of the Bosphorus.

Accommodation

Ciragan Palace Kempinski offers guests a variety of luxurious accommodation options. The hotel has 310 rooms and suites, all of which are elegantly furnished and equipped with modern amenities. The rooms and suites are spread across two buildings: the Palace Building and the Park Building.

The Palace Building has 11 suites, all of which offer spectacular views of the Bosphorus. The suites are spacious and feature high ceilings, marble bathrooms, and antique furnishings.


The Park Building has 299 rooms, including 20 suites. The rooms are decorated in a modern style and are equipped with state-of-the-art amenities. The suites are spacious and offer guests stunning views of the Bosphorus or the city.

Dining

Ciragan Palace Kempinski offers guests a variety of dining options. The hotel has four restaurants and three bars, each offering a unique dining experience.

Tugra Restaurant is the hotel’s signature restaurant, serving Ottoman cuisine in a luxurious setting. The restaurant is located in the Palace Building and offers guests stunning views of the Bosphorus.

Laledan Restaurant is a buffet-style restaurant that serves international cuisine. The restaurant is located in the Park Building and offers guests a casual dining experience.


Gazebo Lounge is an outdoor lounge that serves light meals, snacks, and drinks. The lounge is located in the hotel’s garden and offers guests stunning views of the Bosphorus.

Kempinski Grill is a steakhouse that serves premium quality meat and seafood. The restaurant is located in the Park Building and offers guests a sophisticated dining experience.

What is your pet policy?

It is our intent to provide you with not only a wonderful and enjoyable stay but also a safe one. For the comfort and safety of all guests the following policies apply to your pet’s stay: *Only cats and dogs are allowed; no birds, reptiles, fish, rodents, pigs or exotic pets will be permitted. Dogs/Cats may not exceed 10 kilos. We permit 2 pets per room. *The pets are not permitted in any public/common areas of the hotel at any time. *The pet will be kept on a leash or in a crate when coming in or out of the hotel. *Pet shall at all times remain under the Guest’s sole care and control. Hotel personnel are not authorized or permitted to supervise, feed or “pet-sit” any registered animal during the stay. *Pets that create a noisy or disturbing influence on the hotels normal operations or disrupt the quite use of this facility for other guests may result in eviction without refund. *Housekeeping personnel will not enter the room for daily cleaning porposes unless the pet is “crated” or the Guest is present if no crate protection provided. It is the Guest’s responsibility to contact the Hotel’s Housekeeping for the purpose of cleaning the room on a daily basis.(Ext.7800) *The guest will be held personally liable for any and all damages caused by the pet to hotel

Our main restaurant is open for buffet breakfast at TL 575 per person every day from 06.30 AM to 11.00 AM.

The Check-in time: 14.00 and Check-out time: 12.00.

High speed Wi-Fi is complimentary on hotel premises.

Parking facilities are available at the hotel and complimentary for accommodating hotel guests.

What are the museum's opening times?

Most of the museums are open between 09:00 and 16:00 (Winter Time) & 09:00 and 18:00 (Summer Time)

Can I walk across any of the bridges?

Pedestrians are not allowed to walk over the bridges linking Asia and Europe. However you can walk over the Golden Horn Bridges; Haliç Bridge, Old Galata Bridge, and Unkapanı Bridge.

What is the best way to get to the airport?

The most comfortable and fastest way to reach by private car, taxi or water taxi.

Can I reach the Old City by boat from the hotel?

Yes, it can be reached by water taxi or commuter boats.

Do I need to cover my head to visit Blue Mosque?

Yes, please keep your head, shoulders and knees covered.

Do taxi drivers accept credit cards?

Some taxis accept credit card payments however cash payments are much preffered and usual in Istanbul.

What is the best way to do a Bosphorus Tour?

A cruise on the Bosphorus may be done by private yacht or public boat.

How do I avoid queues for the museums?

Museum pass tickets allow you ‘fast track entry’ into many museums; however not all though! Dolmabahce Palace tickets can be booked in advance.

What are the best shopping malls in Istanbul?

İstinye Park, Zorlu Center and Kanyon are among the best on the European side of the city.

Is the hotel on the European side or Asian side of the city?

We are located on the European side of the city.

Which days of the week are the weekend in Turkey?

The weekend days in Turkey are Saturday & Sunday.

Can I make payment in Euros or Dollars when I am in town?

Some places accept euros or dollars. However, you will still need cash - Turkish Lira in particular - for smaller purchases.

Do I need to bargain when shopping?

Yes, you can Bargain in Grand Bazaar or touristic places.

Is Friday a holiday in Turkey?

No, Friday is a weekday in Turkey.

Do I need to book a taxi to go to airport?

Taxis are 24/7 available at the hotel.

    It was one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. Rooms, furnishings, and housekeeping are of the highest quality. It was very helpful to have a concierge desk and a travel desk. One of the best views in Istanbul. It would be great to come back again soon.
