History
The palace was built in the 19th century for the Ottoman sultans. It was designed by the famous Ottoman architect, Sarkis Balyan. The palace was home to many sultans, including Abdulmecid I and Abdulaziz. The palace served as the residence of the last six Ottoman sultans until the fall of the Ottoman Empire in 1922. During the Republic era, the palace was used as a state guest house and later as a hotel.
In 1989, the palace was leased to a Turkish construction company, which renovated the palace and converted it into a luxury hotel. The hotel officially opened in 1992 and was managed by Kempinski Hotels. In 2007, the hotel was purchased by the Kempinski Group and renamed the Ciragan Palace Kempinski.

What is your pet policy?
It is our intent to provide you with not only a wonderful and enjoyable stay but also a safe one. For the comfort and safety of all guests the following policies apply to your pet’s stay: *Only cats and dogs are allowed; no birds, reptiles, fish, rodents, pigs or exotic pets will be permitted. Dogs/Cats may not exceed 10 kilos. We permit 2 pets per room. *The pets are not permitted in any public/common areas of the hotel at any time. *The pet will be kept on a leash or in a crate when coming in or out of the hotel. *Pet shall at all times remain under the Guest’s sole care and control. Hotel personnel are not authorized or permitted to supervise, feed or “pet-sit” any registered animal during the stay. *Pets that create a noisy or disturbing influence on the hotels normal operations or disrupt the quite use of this facility for other guests may result in eviction without refund. *Housekeeping personnel will not enter the room for daily cleaning porposes unless the pet is “crated” or the Guest is present if no crate protection provided. Pedestrians are not allowed to walk over the bridges linking Asia and Europe. However you can walk over the Golden Horn Bridges; Haliç Bridge, Old Galata Bridge, and Unkapanı Bridge.

The most comfortable and fastest way to reach by private car, taxi or water taxi.
Can I reach the Old City by boat from the hotel?

Museum pass tickets allow you ‘fast track entry’ into many museums; however not all though! Dolmabahce Palace tickets can be booked in advance.

It was one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. Rooms, furnishings, and housekeeping are of the highest quality. It was very helpful to have a concierge desk and a travel desk. One of the best views in Istanbul. It would be great to come back again soon.
