What does the swimming pig tour tour include?
The swimming pig boat tour is an all-inclusive full-day away excursion encompassing 5 different island stops inclusive of Round trip, lunch, park passes, swimming Pigs, iguana feeding, immersive shark swim (yes you get in the water with sharks), private island beach stop.
Do we stop to the sand bar?
YES! We do BUT, it fully depends on the tide level and time of day. Sand bars are only seen when the sea leave is at its lowest point.*** THE SAND BAR IS THE SAME STOP AS THE PRIVATE ISLAND BEACH. In the event the sand bar is unavailable the captain will locate another private beach location to make a stop as a substitute. The sand bar is NOT guaranteed.
What are the tour times?
The boat tour has one standard time. Departures begin at 8:30am however if all passengers on manifest are present and/or if the maritime lead foresees incoming weather that may make cause for possible cancellation, a decision may be made to leave sooner. Return time is standard 5:30pm however if the weather is better than anticipated ships may arrive back at the terminal anywhere from 4:40 - 5pm.
Are there any half day tours available?
The distance to the pigs from Nassau is too great to accommodate a half-day tour. At least 6 hours is needed for round trip transfers and at least one stop. A private charter would have to be arranged for this purpose. It is the only option. All group tours are FULL DAY.
Do the animals bite?
Most animals use their mouth as a defense mechanism if they feel threatened in any way. All animals on the tour are also wild, untrained, and in their natural habitat. No guide or representative of the company can predict animal behavior. All of our guides and crew are familiar with the characteristics of each animal you will encounter and will offer sound advice on how to approach each interaction.
What kind of boats do we go on?
We conduct the pig beach tour using center console powerboats. To cover the distance to the swimming pigs and back (approximately 200 nautical miles Roundtrip) Powerboat’s are the only vessels that would suffice.
How long are we at each stop?
In order to accommodate a tour that spans over 200 nautical miles Roundtrip, stop to 5 different islands with passengers disembarking and embarking at each stop, the allotted time is between 25- 30 minutes per stop with the iguana feeding being the shortest (15 minutes). Port regulations apply also in regards to getting passengers back to the port of departure before dark fall.
