If you’re a tourist or resident that somehow hasn’t stumbled upon La Mer Dubai yet, read on to find out Bayut’s first impressions of this gorgeous beachfront. Discover all about La Mer restaurants, beaches, waterpark, cinema and more!
LA MER DUBAI OPENING SCHEDULE
Phase I, comprising of La Mer South and La Mer North, opened to the public on October 15th, 2017. It feels a lot bigger than you’d imagine, but we did some fact-checking, and the area actually covers an impressive 13.4 million square feet.
Meanwhile, Phase II, The Wharf started welcoming visitors in 2018 and features the Laguna Waterpark and Roxy Cinemas!
LA MER BEACH
La Mer offers over a hundred shops, restaurants and cafes, a waterpark, a trampoline park, a skateboard park and a cinema. But it’s really the 2.5 long strip of the Jumeirah Public Beach that gives the venue its cheery marine spirit.
At La Mer Beach, you can walk barefoot dressed head to toe in beach chic, or you can go skimpy and focus on beach sports. Whatever you opt for, there’s plenty of cabanas, showers, and other facilities.
LA MER RESTAURANTS
Waterfront views, lush landscaping and quirky architecture aren’t all that La Mer has to offer. Dubai’s coolest beach destination is actually a gastronome’s dream – there’s a massive selection of trendy cafes and restaurants in La Mer Dubai. And in the city’s classic postmodern style, La Mer Dubai restaurants have something for everyone! Whether it’s juicy and all-natural burgers, fresh seafood or authentic Japanese ramen – whatever you’re craving, this trendy beach spot is bound to have it. Head to Kaftan at La Mer for delicious Turkish fare by the sea and tuck into their succulent kababs and generous portions. Or enjoy a hearty breakfast and great coffee while people-watching at Parker’s La Mer.
Take a look below at the La Mer Jumeirah restaurants that are definitely worth checking out when you’re craving something delicious:
- Kaftan Turkish Gourmet
- Smoky Beach
- Treej Café
- Catch 22
- Smoked Meat Kitchen
- Sugar Factory
- Roti Rollers

Dubai’s hottest beachfront destination also boasts three licensed venues for visitors to indulge. The three La Mer licensed restaurants include Masti, which serves up Indian fusion food along with an extensive bar menu. Other two licensed restaurants at La Mer are Stars N Bars, a popular Abu Dhabi sports lounge and Osh, an Uzbek restaurant that has its origins in London.
When it comes to the shops in La Mer, there’s Sephora, Via Rodeo, Trina Turk and plenty of one-of-a-kind and quirky little shops for visitors to browse! Apart from the Sephora in La Mer, the Bin Sin Pharmacy, Seif Pharmacies and Make Up Lab also cater to your beauty needs. LA Rags, Pain De Sucre, Beach Bunny and Hamac are the perfect spots to update your beach wardrobe. In addition to these, there are a number of optical stores and other retailers in La Mer.
HOW TO GO TO LA MER DUBAI
The La Mer Dubai location is in the affluent community of Jumeirah 1, between the Pearl Jumeirah and Jumeirah Bay. Centrally located, there are several ways to access this Dubai hotspot.
La Mer Beach is easily accessible via Jumeirah Street. If you are coming from the direction of Abu Dhabi, then drive past Mercato Shopping Mall, then turn left onto 39A street. Follow the signs to 2A Street, where the entrance to La Mer North is situated.
If you’re coming from the direction of Sharjah, drive past Etihad Museum and Jumeirah Mosque on Jumeirah Street, then turn right onto 2A Street.
Those travelling to La Mer via car will also find plenty of free parking on the ground floor. However, the basement parking here is chargeable; the La Mer Dubai parking fees is AED 20 per hour. If visitors dine or shop at any La Mer restaurants or stores worth AED 100, they can avail free parking for three hours by validating their parking voucher! Make sure that the outlet does have the validating facility as some may not (for instance, the kiosks at La Mer).
Wondering how to go to La Mer Dubai by bus? RTA Buses 8, 9 and 88 stop at multiple points near La Mer and along Jumeirah Beach Road.
Those interested in how to go to La Mer Dubai by metro should know that the Dubai Metro does not directly connect to the beachfront spot. Instead, visitors can get down at the Business Bay Metro Station, from where they can catch RTA Bus 9, which stops near La Mer.
La Mer Dubai by Meraas represents another fantastic addition to the increasingly impressive lifestyle and entertainment destinations in Dubai. We can’t wait to see what the residential development of La Mer will have in store for users of Bayut. We certainly loved La Mer, and we are sure you will too!
Keep an eye out for the parking lot full of illustrations of marine life, a fish illustration on a manhole, the school of fish drawings and other marine-inspired creatives.
To sum up, La Mer Dubai is a must for anyone who’s a thalassophile at heart.
