The Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is a modern and contemporary art museum located in Miami, Florida. It is one of the premier cultural institutions in the city, and is dedicated to presenting and interpreting international art of the 20th and 21st centuries. PAMM is located on Biscayne Bay in downtown Miami, and is a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists.

The museum was founded in 1984 as the Center for Fine Arts, and later changed its name to the Miami Art Museum. In 2013, the museum moved to its current location and was renamed the Pérez Art Museum Miami in honor of its largest benefactor, Jorge M. Pérez. The museum is designed by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, and features a unique combination of indoor and outdoor spaces that showcase contemporary art and provide breathtaking views of the bay.

PAMM’s collection is focused on international contemporary art from the 20th and 21st centuries, with a particular emphasis on artists from Latin America and the Caribbean. The museum’s permanent collection includes works by artists such as Wifredo Lam, Julio Le Parc, Louise Bourgeois, and Yayoi Kusama. The collection also includes works by many emerging and mid-career artists.

In addition to its permanent collection, PAMM presents a wide variety of rotating exhibitions throughout the year. These exhibitions cover a broad range of topics and styles, and often feature works by international artists who have never before been exhibited in the United States. PAMM has established itself as a leader in the presentation of Latin American art, and many of the museum’s exhibitions explore themes related to this cultural and geographic region.

One of the highlights of PAMM is its waterfront location, which provides breathtaking views of Biscayne Bay. The museum features several outdoor spaces, including a sculpture garden and a terrace overlooking the bay. These spaces are used for events and performances throughout the year, and offer a unique and memorable experience for visitors.

In addition to its exhibitions, PAMM offers a range of programs and activities for visitors of all ages. The museum hosts lectures, workshops, and family programs that are designed to engage and educate visitors about contemporary art and its significance. PAMM is committed to providing access to contemporary art for all, and offers a range of community programs and partnerships that promote the arts and culture in Miami.

PAMM is also home to a café and a museum shop, which offer visitors the opportunity to enjoy refreshments and purchase unique gifts and souvenirs related to the museum’s exhibitions and programs. The café is located on the museum’s terrace, and provides stunning views of the bay.

PAMM is a vibrant and dynamic cultural institution that is helping to promote Miami as a leading cultural destination. The museum is committed to presenting and interpreting contemporary art from around the world, and offers a range of programs and activities that engage and educate visitors of all ages. PAMM’s unique combination of indoor and outdoor spaces, its stunning waterfront location, and its commitment to accessibility and community engagement make it a must-visit destination for anyone interested in contemporary art and culture.

One of the most significant aspects of PAMM is its commitment to community engagement and accessibility. The museum offers free admission to youth under 18, and has partnerships with local schools and community organizations to provide educational programming for children and families. PAMM also offers discounted admission to local residents, ensuring that the museum is accessible to all members of the community.
