The third largest emirate in Sharjah is famous for its cultural heritage. However, the city has many entertainment options as well. If you are looking for fun things to do in Sharjah with the kids, we highly recommend a visit to the Sharjah Discovery Center. Designed for children from 3 to 12 years of age with science and technology learning activities. A modern way of teaching is to make the learning experience a participatory and communication process for children. It was opened on March 18, 1999. The Sharjah Discovery Center follows the same process and introduces your little one to the scientific world in a fun and interactive way as we found in our review of the Sharjah Discovery Center. Discovery Center has a safe, connected and child-centered environment where children can learn and play at the same time. The center is divided into seven playgrounds following different themes. Each section offers a variety of interesting activities for children. Here is a list of all seven playgrounds at the Sharjah Discovery Center.
Driving City
Learning the rules of the road is fun at the Sharjah Discovery Center. The Drive Town Playground is designed to raise awareness among children about road safety rules. The Adoption Center has electric cars and tracks shaped like Sharjah roads and streets to make the experience as realistic as possible for children. Kids learn what the robots mean while driving electric cars on the tracks.
KID’S INTERNATION AIRPORT
Designed to look like a real airport, Sharjah Kids International Airport teaches kids everything about flying. The show takes children on a thought-provoking journey around the world. The experience begins when children place their luggage and luggage under a load X-ray app. The fun begins when the children put on plastic wings and begin their global journey through the clouds. Children travel around the world exploring famous landmarks that represent different cities and countries. Some of the landmarks include the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Stue of Liberty in New York, Big Ben in London, and Cairo Tower in Egypt to name a few. The playground at the airport has live airport and airplane models so that children can learn about the actual operation of the airport.
BUILD A CITY
The construction and the buildings appeal to children. At the Sharjah Discover Center, children can explore the fascinating construction world. The Built Town playground rejuvenates the imagination of children as they create simple building models with building blocks. Other attractions at the show include cranes, pulleys, concrete mixers and other construction-related games.
PETROLEUM REFINERY
The Petroleum Refinery exhibition is where children learn about the release of fuel from various natural resources on land and in the sea. The filter contains a number of machines that children can use to extract fuel and other minerals.
TV STUDIO
In the attractive TV play area children can shoot video using cameras, lights and audio equipment. In addition, children can broadcast their news programs or weather report on live TV outside of TV Studio.
CLIMBING WALLS
Kids love to climb, smuggle and hang furniture all the time at home. Why not take them to a place where they can do all that under professional guidance and in a safe place. Climbing walls can be held in place with rubber steps that allow children to learn the basics of rock climbing.
WATER WORLD
Children find the oceans and seas interesting; they are attracted by the huge waves, the underwater world teeming with fish and other creatures. The Discovery Center Sharjah’s Water World offers a wealth of fun and engaging activities for children to explore the underwater world. One part of this show is dedicated to jellyfish. With a variety of activities, children can understand how this unique sea creature lives and moves in the water. The life-giving forms of plastic placed inside a water-filled display mimic the real movement of jellyfish. Children spend hours and hours at the Water World fountain, where they can let their imagination run wild and design their own water fountain.
SOUND AREA
Sound Zone is an interactive playground that accurately reflects the sound of air and water. The cleverly designed Sound Zone sections with wide displays that reflect the production and movement of sounds in various mediums, help children to understand the concept of sound.
BODY WORLD
Children have a million questions about the human body. A trip to the Body World exhibition at the Sharjah Discovery Center is a great opportunity to introduce children to human anatomy. Through forms such as orthopedic health, other human organs children will understand the purpose and function of each organ.
STORYTELLER AREA
Every child loves a fascinating story with heroes, evil monsters and flying creatures like dragons. The adoption section of the Adoption Center keeps children involved in compelling educational matters.
WORLD OF SPORTS
Physical activity is equally important in the development of children. In addition, it helps to promote co-operation and cooperation between children. The Sports World section at the Sharjah Discovery Center gives children the opportunity to compete. There is a fully equipped soccer field, a basketball court, and a climbing wall to keep children busy for hours.
SUPERMARKET
The Supermarket exhibition is a great place to introduce children to healthy eating habits. In this section of the Discovery Center, children can create their own health plan by choosing different options. Giving children ownership of their eating plans helps to promote healthy eating habits.

The location of the Sharjah Discovery Center is easy to find on the map. It is located near Sharjah International Airport. Visitors from Dubai can reach the Sharjah Discovery Center within 30 minutes via E11 and E88 routes. Sharjah Discovery Center near Sharjah Airport Road, Intersection 4 and 5, Opposite Sharjah Classic Cars Museum. It is safe to say that apart from museums, green parks in Sharjah, socks and various heritage sites, there is much more to explore in the city.
