OVERVIEW
Congregations in the UAE testify to religious tolerance and cultural diversity in the country. No matter where you live, you can easily find safe places to worship, especially in the Christian community. In this blog post, we talk about St. Mary’s Sunday. Michael, Sharjah, one of the leading Roman Catholic places of worship in the UAE. St Michael’s Church is one of the oldest Christian places of worship in the area and has been serving devout Catholics in the Al Yarmook area since October 2, 1997. Vatican Cardinal Arinze consecrated the church with Fr. Angelo served as the first parish priest. Prior to the construction and sanctification of the present church foundation, the Roman Catholic Church St. Michael’s in Sharjah was based in a small church near the British Air Force base. The congregation was founded by an Italian pastor of the Capuchin sect, Fr. Barnabas Maddii, 1971. Two years later, the church was handed over to police events, with the kitchen area serving as a regional house. Today, there are six priests in the church, who conduct Mass in various languages to care for the spiritual needs of the various expatriate communities. Along with the clergy, St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Sharjah also has 167 Eucharist Ministers, 139 Pastors, 80 Volunteers and 113 altar servers. There is also a 28-member choir that leads believers in worship and worship.
HISTORY
The diocese is one of the largest Catholic parishes in the country with around 40,000 members. In addition to this, there are 35 active prayer groups at St. Paul’s Church. Michael meets weekly. In addition, parents can enroll their children in Catechism church programs. It is one of the largest programs in Sharjah with more than 4,000 children attending Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The first week of St. Michael’s was founded by Fr. Barnabas in 1971 and was originally just a small house close to the British Airforce base. In 1973 Fr. Father Barnabas was succeeded by Father Attilio, Edmund, Antonino, Felicio, Godwin and Angelo. The church grew and the place to house all the believers. The new church was built by Fr. Angelo Fiumicelli and his team, under the supervision of Bishop Bernard Gremoli. It was consecrated on 2 October 1997 by Cardinal Artinze of the Vatican, and Fr. Angelo as the first parish priest. When Fr. Angelo returned to Italy 18 years later at St. Paul’s Church. Michael and 54-year-old Vicariate of Arabia, Bishop Paul Hinder O.F.M. Cap appoints Fr. Ani Xavier as parish priest on July 6, 2007, and other pastors Fr. Rodson, Fr. Antonio, Fr. Biju and Fr. Felicio. 35 prayer groups meet weekly, and Mass is conducted in 8 languages.
THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
In order to prepare a child to be baptized in the Roman Catholic Church, Parents and the Godparents (One Godfather and One Godmother, must be Catholics and be certified, 18 years of age or older) must attend the Baptismal Meeting held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church is the second Monday of each month from 08:00 PM to 09:00 PM.
Documents Required
Parents should submit the following documents to the parish office at least one week before baptism. A copy of the Certificate of Baptism for Both Parents and Parents. Copy of the Child’s Birth Certificate. Copy of Catholic Parents’ Marriage Certificate. Copy of Passport and Visa (parents and child). Copy of Certificate of Verification / Certificate of Catholic Marriage of Godparents. Parents / Godparents live in Sharjah / Ajman – A copy of the Parish registration details. Parents / Godparents live outside of Sharjah / Ajman – Original No Objection Letter (NOC) from a concerned Parish Priest. To register for baptism, please bring copies of all relevant documents to the Parish Office.
Requirements
First Baptismal Certificate of Free Status. Original Verification Certificate. True Certificate of Freedom of Marriage to Your Parish Priest where you were baptized. Letter (Singleness / Legal Marriage) from your Embassy / Consulate. First Certificate of Marriage Preparation. Copy of Passport with residential visa page (No Travel Visa). Two passport size photographs The above documents are required in order to attend a Pre-Wedding Inquiry and to arrange a wedding day with the Parish Priest. The above-mentioned certificates must be issued no later than 6 months from the date of the Wedding and the documents must be Original Copies. Send all your documents to the Parish office to publish 3 weeks of Weddings.
Between Baptized Catholics And Non-Catholics
Catholics follow the above requirements. What is needed for non-Catholics. Freedom of Marriage / Single Certificate / Legal Status of Marriage (from Consulate). A copy of the Passport and Visa page and two photographs of passport size. Baptism Certificate for Baptized Christians. Marriage Preparation Certificate. All documents must be valid for six months. All documents must be submitted before or within three months of the marriage.
Marriage Preparation Course
The Wedding Preparatory Course is held once a month. Registration will begin once the academic dates have been announced. Please bring a portable copy of your newly baptized Baptism Certificate to the Parish Office to register for the study.

Hospital Death Certificate.
