1. The Burj Khalifa
You wouldn’t want to take the stairs up, would you? Fortunately, the Burj Khalifa also includes the world’s highest elevator, which can rise 504 meters in a single trip at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour.
Now for the real reason to go to Burj Khalifa: The world’s highest outdoor observation deck, located on level 148, from where you can see Dubai from a height of 555 meters!
As a world-record-breaking structure, it’s no wonder that the Burj Khalifa has been the site of a lot of world-record-breaking feats! Let’s start with the biggest building climb, which was completed by Alain Robert, called “French Spiderman,” on the Dubai gigantic tower in just over 6 hours—he did it alone, with no help!
How about the highest building-to-building foundation jump? It could only happen on the world’s highest skyscraper! French jumpers Fred Fugen and Vince Reffet did it on April 21, 2014. They leaped from the pinnacle at 828 meters, the highest point of the Burj Khalifa.
On top of that, it’s the world’s highest freestanding building. The CN Tower, which we saw during our stay in Toronto, formerly held this record!
The Burj Khalifa also holds the record for having the most floors in the world, at 160.
Fun Facts
The design of the Burj Khalifa was influenced by traditional Islamic architecture as well as the spider lily, a desert flower popular in the UAE. You can see the similarities if you look at the tower from above!
The skyscraper also houses the world’s second Armani Hotel, after the one in Milan. Giorgio wanted guests to feel as if they were entering his house, hence the hotel has no reception.
The building is filled with particularly commissioned paintings, which art aficionados will appreciate. The sculpture in the corporate entrance by Egyptian-born artist Karim Rashid, formed of moving oval forms, and the ‘World Voices’ installation in the residents’ lobby are two examples. The latter was created by Catalan artist Jaume Plensa and comprises hanging cymbals that make noise when they are struck by water drops.
In Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Tom Cruise scaled the Burj. The building’s original name was Burj Dubai, but it was renamed Burj Khalifa in honor of Dubai’s ruler, Sheikh Khalifa. The Dubai Fountain, which is the size of two football fields, surrounds the Burj.
Traditional abra boats may be rented to cruise around the Dubai Fountain. The popular sound and light show were built by the same team that designed the Bellagio Hotel’s lake fountains. 2. The Aquaventure Water Park
Here is the answer to the question of which waterpark in the Middle East is the largest. The Aquaventure water park, which is located on the tip of the magnificent Palm Jumeirah—the world’s biggest manmade island and arguably also in human history—is the largest water-themed park in Dubai and the Middle East.
Aquaventure, which is located directly adjacent to Palm Island’s crown gem, offers a long list of attractions and records. This park is also known as the Atlantis Waterpark. Although a misnomer, the water park is connected to the five-star luxury resort Atlantis, The Palm, so it’s not too far-fetched.

Hundreds of people come to the Aquaventure water park every day to unwind after a long week at work, and others to enjoy the breathtaking views of the sea. This park has a massive 17-hectare area. That’s the equivalent of 23 football fields (soccer in America).
Aquaventure is distinct from many other theme parks in Dubai for a few reasons. This park is located on Palm Island’s outer crescent. That means you’ll have an unrivaled view of the sea and all of the boats cruising around the Palm.
Another notable feature is that it is Dubai’s largest and most likely best water theme park. The rides at the park utilize a total of 18 million gallons of water. That’s insanely large. You also receive free admission to the park if you stay at the Atlantis, the Palm.
What’s inside the park…?
1. The leap of faith
The park’s main attraction is this ride. The tower that holds the attraction can be seen practically everywhere in the park due to its height. The Leap of Faith water slide is a tall, near-vertical slide. When you descend from the top, you enter a translucent acrylic tube that leads to a pool filled with terrifying sharks and rays.
If you have a weak stomach, however, we do not advocate taking this trip. But there’s no need to be concerned about this ride. It’s entirely risk-free.
2. Shark attack
This ride is a spin-off of the preceding one. The Shark Attack is longer and slower than the Shark Attack in terms of height and speed. The rides will take you through a shark and ray tank. You will go in a translucent acrylic tube that provides a 360-degree view of everything going on around you. So, when you walk around the tank, take a close look at the sharks and other attractions.
3. Poseidon’s Retaliation
Find out what it’s like to ride one of the waterpark’s deadliest rides. Poseidon’s vengeance is a type of leap of faith. This one, however, has trap doors. As a result, instead of falling into the tunnel slowly, you plummet 31 meters below when you least expect it. There are multiple loops, twists, and turns along the length of the waterslide, some of which may even transport you upside down.
4. Atlantean Flyer
This is the park’s lone zipline. The line runs between the Ziggurat tower and the zipline tower, as well as additional rides like the leap of death and shark attack. The zipline is 65 feet above the ground and travels at a peak speed of 15 kilometers per hour.
