ABOUT
University of Sharjah City is an academic district close to Sharjah International Airport. The region, also known as Sharjah University City, was established in 1998 by the Sharjah Governor and Member of the Executive Council, His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi. The aim was to turn it into an educational institution. Sharjah University City has more than 20 educational institutions and more than 30,000 seekers. Encouraged by Muslim construction, the area is surrounded by more than 15,000 sq. Km. Sharjah University City is one of the best places in the country. It is a global place that welcomes people from all walks of life. The educational hub has several parks and footpaths and its buildings such as Martyrs ’Monument showcase the size of Muslim buildings. There are several retail outlets and facilities for outdoor activities near University City.

The Alemam Ibn Hazem Mosque and the Sharjah University Mosque are two mosques of the University of Sharjah. Other options nearby are Rafe’i Ibn Yazeed Alansari Mosque, Al Emam Al Nisa’ei Mosque, Al Dar Mosque, Al Qassimiya University Mosque and Al Falah Mosque among many others. The closest churches are AG Tamil Church, Sharjah, Church of God – Sharjah, Amazing Grace Church & Ministries and Union church. These places of worship in the Al Yarmook community can be found within 16 to 17 minutes by car. The nearest Hindu temples are India Sangatadham Gigaso and Shri Mariyamman Temple, about 16 minutes from the site.

Becoming an educational institution, University City has grown into a family-friendly community. Delma Nursery, Mwaileh Children’s Skills Development and Al Wadi Children’s Skills Development Center are 8 to 10 minutes by regional drive. With higher education, citizens can access the public K3-STS in a 6-minute drive. Other schools close to the University of Sharjah include Sharjah School for Boys, Al Estiqlal Private School, Sharjah Ambassador School, Brilliant International Private School, Ryan International School, Sharjah British International School, GEMS Cambridge International Private School Sharjah and Delta English School. All these schools are 6 to 10 minutes away by car. Some of the best universities in University City Sharjah such as the College of Medicine University of Sharjah, American University of Sharjah, Skyline University College, University of Sharjah and College of Law and University City Hall are known for their quality education. The latest additions to the list of Sharjah universities are Al Qasimia University, the Sharjah Institute of Science and Technology, the Sharjah Center for Space and Astronomy and the Sharjah Research Academy.

Citizens seeking health care can access the Sharjah Care Center in 4 minutes by car. Matajer Al Juraina located on University City Road in three minutes driving is a great shopping destination for residents. Provides easy access to premium and premium quality sales. The mall is also anchored by Carrefour, to complete the public shopping experience. Other supermarkets near Sharjah University City are also in Al Juraina for 5 to 6 minutes by car. This includes the Zero 6 style and Torino Moda.
RECREATION ACTIVITIES
Citizens have easy access to many of the world’s most popular recreational areas and landmarks near University City Sharjah including the Sharjah Discovery Center, Sharjah Classic Cars Museum, Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club and Cultural Square. The Sharjah Discovery Center is an interactive museum for children ages 3 to 12. It introduces scientific ideas in a fun way for kids to play, discover and learn. Some of the fun things you can do at the Sharjah Discovery Center include visiting seven playgrounds. These venues include Sharjah Kid’s International Airport, Build Town, Petroleum Refinery, TV Studio, Water World, Sound Zone, Body World, Storyteller Area, Sports World and Drive Town. You can get to your destination in 9 minutes by car from Sharjah University City. Those interested in harvesting cars can visit the Sharjah Classic Car Museum. The museum features more than a hundred classic cars made in the 20th century. The oldest car in the museum was built in 1915 and the latest in 1960. You can get to the museum within 13 minutes from University City. Golfers can also get Sharjah Golf and Shototing Club for 13 minutes of driving.
