Avenue of Stars is a major tourist attraction located on the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade in Hong Kong. This iconic promenade honors the most famous and beloved personalities of the Hong Kong film industry, with plaques, handprints, and memorabilia on display. The attraction was closed for renovation for a few years and reopened in early 2019, offering visitors a fresh new look and more interactive experience.

The Avenue of Stars is a 440-meter-long waterfront promenade that is designed to resemble a strip of a film roll. The promenade offers stunning views of the Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong Island skyline, with plenty of photo opportunities. Visitors can also catch a glimpse of the daily Symphony of Lights show, a spectacular multimedia light and sound show that involves 40 buildings on both sides of the Victoria Harbour.

One of the most popular attractions at the Avenue of Stars is the bronze statue of Bruce Lee, which was unveiled in 2005. The statue depicts the legendary martial artist in a classic pose, with his arms in a fighting position. Bruce Lee is considered one of Hong Kong’s most iconic figures, and his statue is a must-see for fans.

Another highlight of the promenade is the handprint and signature of Jackie Chan, the Hong Kong-born actor and martial artist. Jackie Chan is known for his unique style of blending comedy and martial arts in his films. Visitors can also see handprints and autographs of other famous Hong Kong film stars, including Chow Yun-fat, Andy Lau, and Tony Leung.

The promenade also has several interactive exhibits that showcase Hong Kong’s film industry. One of the most popular is the “The World of Tim Burton,” which displays props, costumes, and artwork from the renowned American film director’s films, such as “Edward Scissorhands” and “Batman.” The exhibit allows visitors to take photos with Tim Burton’s iconic characters, such as Jack Skellington and Edward Scissorhands.

Another interactive exhibit is the “Voice of the Stars,” where visitors can use a microphone to record their voices over the famous lines of Hong Kong movies. They can choose from a variety of scenes and languages, such as Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, and share the recording with friends and family via social media.

The Avenue of Stars also features a souvenir shop that sells a variety of film-related items, such as posters, DVDs, and T-shirts. The shop also offers personalized souvenir items, such as a custom-made Hollywood Walk of Fame-style star with the visitor’s name on it.

The attraction is open daily from 10 am to 9 pm, with free admission for all visitors. The promenade can be reached by taking the MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui station and walking towards the waterfront. The promenade is also accessible by the Star Ferry, a historic ferry service that connects Tsim Sha Tsui to Central and Wan Chai on Hong Kong Island.

In conclusion, the Avenue of Stars is a must-visit attraction for film buffs and anyone interested in Hong Kong’s film industry. The promenade offers a fun and interactive experience with stunning views of the Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong Island skyline. Visitors can also learn about the city’s film history and culture while taking memorable photos with their favorite Hong Kong film stars.
