History of Trader Vic’s

Trader Vic’s was founded in 1934 by Victor Jules Bergeron Jr. in Oakland, California. The restaurant was originally a small tiki bar that served rum-based cocktails and Polynesian-inspired cuisine. Over the years, Trader Vic’s expanded to become a global brand, with locations in major cities around the world.

The first Trader Vic’s in Seychelles opened in 1972, and it quickly became a popular destination for tourists and locals. The restaurant was renovated in 2016 and reopened with a fresh new look and menu.

The centerpiece of the restaurant is the iconic tiki bar, which features a thatched roof and is decorated with carved tikis and other Polynesian artwork. The bar serves a range of signature cocktails, including the famous Mai Tai, which was invented by Victor Bergeron himself.
