6. Masafi
Masafi is a village in the United Arab Emirates on the outskirts of the Hajar Mountains. It is located at the entrance to Wadi Ham, which flows into Fujairah City. The border between the emirates of Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah runs through the city, which houses the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces barracks. Until recently, when the Sharjah road to Kalba and the ‘truck road’ between Dibba and the 311 highway in Ras al-Khaimah were built, the road through Masafi was the only inland route to the UAE’s East Coast. The road from downtown David to Dibba, north of Fujairah City, passes through Masafi.
A few excavations point to the Bronze Age settlement in Masafi, which was recently restored (2012) as a stone and adobe fort, small but similar to the nearby Al Bithnah Fort, which was also restored as part of a similar project. The fort contains an outstanding example of falaj, an underground aqueduct built to transport water from the mountains to the inner oasis cities. Masafi was a village with about 50 houses at the turn of the twentieth century, divided between the Sharqiyin and Mazari tribes, with about 30 cows, 350 sheep, and 5,000 palms.

So, when people think of things to do in Fujairah, the beautiful beach of Khorfakkan is undoubtedly on the list. Khorfakkan Container Terminal is the region’s only deep-water port. If you rent an apartment in Fujairah, you will become accustomed to seeing large ships in the harbour and sailing. The rocky mountains of Hajar are located behind the Khorfakkan Sea. Because of their age, these rock formations are beautiful, rustic, and make excellent photo opportunities. Most Instagrammers include these fantastic features in their feeds, but seeing them in person is an entirely different experience.
ACTIVITIES
Khorfakkan Beach offers a wide range of activities. The region’s many small islands make it an ideal location for diving, snorking, and other water sports. You can reserve all information about travel companies such as Adventure Sports, 7 Seas Divers, and Hydro Water Sports in advance. Your diving skills can also be tested due to the depth and difficulty of navigation.
SNORKELLING AND DRIVING
You can snorkel and enter Khorfakkan from a variety of locations. All companies offering such trips and services must be registered and certified, so choose only the most trustworthy companies. Here are some of the best places in Khorfakkan to try these water sports.
Shark Island
Most people are put off by Shark Island snorkelling simply because of the name. However, there have been no shark attacks in this area. However, blacktip reef sharks can be seen east of the island, especially from November to April. You can rest assured that you live far away from the shark. Nothing remotely resembling Steven Speilberg’s iconic ‘JAWS’ has ever occurred on this beautiful island. Fortunately, they have plenty of other victims to feed. When you arrive by boat, you may encounter small fish and sea turtles. Allow them to be. If you enjoy diving, Khorfakkan is a fantastic place to see a variety of marine life. Because the sea is visible, this is one of the most popular activities near the Kororakakan Sea. Radiation, moray eels, and Arabian angelfish live in these rock formations. Anemone Gardens
The Anemone Garden is located northeast of Shark Island. At this popular snorkelling spot near Khorfakkan’s coast, the water depth is less than 20 feet [20 m]. Jacks and small barracuda, as well as the shy sea, will greet you here. Do not stay submerged for extended periods of time. These lovely creatures are always timid, and you can frighten them.
Automobile Cemeteries
Even if you’re a seasoned shack, Cem Cemetery will put your skills to the test. The most feared animals hide here, so their appearance is low. However, if you can overcome this obstacle, you will be able to see some amazing sea creatures in this boring, yet entertaining location.
PLACES FOR CHILDREN TO PLAY
There are playgrounds specifically designed for children. Because these reasons are surrounded by palm trees, sunlight only filters through. As a result, children can spend hours trying to imitate their favourite soccer players. If your child admires Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi, he will not want to leave the field until he has scored a few goals. This is one of the most family-friendly activities in Khorfakkan, and it is not to be missed. While the kids are having fun with each other, you can get sunburned on a sandy beach and work on your tan. But don’t forget to bring your sunscreen!

Customers are given information about where to find the various types of water during the dive before boarding the boat, which focuses on the northwest part of the island.
The water here is teeming with all kinds of marine animals in various parts of the island, from green tortoises to large pieces of mackerel, colourful coral reefs, and coral sharks. Take a 4m to 5m dive on the northwest corner of the island, for example, and you’ll see a local electric ray looking under the sand near the anchor line. Continue swimming while keeping the rocks to your left to see moray eels, Arabian boxfish, parrotfish, butterflyfish, Sergeant Major, Snapper, Angelfish, and other sea creatures. To up the ante, go diving at night and you might come across a red octopus that isn’t normally seen in this area. The Brain Coral collections can be reached by diving 3m east. If you dive in the afternoon, you might see a tortoise or two resting beneath the base. After the dive, take a shower, sit down, and relax with a cup of hot coffee or tea. The Dive Center’s services are subject to availability. A diving guide or a second dive on the same day costs $13.61. (AED 50). Customers are welcome to bring their own equipment. If not, the service will provide them for a fee.
SNORKELING AND KAYAKING:
Is the impending collapse too much for you? Hire ski equipment at the Beach Hut outside the resort. It is the most cost-effective way to get closer to underwater species without going too deep. Would you like to get closer to the rocks without getting wet? You can rent a kayak, paddleboard, or ZeaSled depending on your preferences.
