Crown Prince said this on Thursday during the launch of the JSW clinker factory in Habhab. The factory is owned by JSW Cement Group, India’s leading manufacturer of raw cement. The factory will have the capacity to produce six million tons of rock per annum, and 1.4 million tons will be used to produce clinker. He added that in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Governor of Fujairah, the emirate is focused on investing in projects that will help the country achieve the UAE Vision 2021, which aims to create a diverse and sustainable economy.
Shaikh Mohammad Bin Hamad also presented a commemorative plaque on the project site, which will look into the construction of a clinker mill in Fujairah, as well as a power plant to supply the services of the unit, at a cost of $ 150 million (Dh550. 5 million). He was then briefed on the details of the project, which is expected to create about 400 to 500 jobs. He also expressed his happiness that the Indian team will be part of the Fujairah program to adopt environmentally friendly strategies.

The first phase aims to produce six million tons of stone, of which 1.4 million tons will be used to produce clinker, while the second phase will produce 12 million tons per year, and the third phase will produce 20 million tons per year. The latest move to build majlis or meeting places in remote areas of Fujairah saw 30 chairs with a 400-capacity ballroom for weddings and other public works opened in 2017 in Habhab.
History
The Habhab was originally part of the area controlled by Ras Al Khaimah but relocated to Fujairah following a takeover in the 1950s.
